Get To Know Aisle 9

What is Aisle 9?

Aisle 9 is a digital platform made for women seeking inspiration + curated products to elevate their daily lives. We are all about showcasing new finds — whether it’s a new product, a new use for an item you already have, sparking a conversation across an online table, or sharing stories of noteworthy women like you. We know you lead a fast-paced life — so we do the work of discovery, making the search for new products + inspiring content easy.

What do you look for when sourcing products + content?

Women-Empowering | We love elevating women, so any chance we get to showcase a woman-owned business, product or story — we’re on it.

Affordable | All of the products we source are always under $200. You can live beautifully on a budget — we’re here to help you select beautiful, innovative essentials that add both value and ease.

Elevating The Everyday | The mundane can and should be beautiful. We love sourcing  everyday products that have an elevated twist. Think — a beautiful dust pan or modern bottle opener.

Conscientious + Charitable | Because our dollars + the lives we lead have significant impact.

What we’re inspired by + why —

We’re inspired by all things unique, meaningful, atypical, and modern. We savor brands that are conscientious, charitable, and intentional about doing one thing particularly well. We are inspired by women, beauty, art, culture, music, nature, travel, and design. We love creative packaging– quality products, in both form x function. We look for things that offer something new to expand our audience’s thinking and perspective + things that are restorative for self-care. We find novelty in everyday things + seek what is beautiful x sustainable, so you can enjoy your life that way, too.

Now that you know a little more about Aisle 9, we thought we’d introduce the kind, smart, creative women that help this platform run every day. We asked them some of the same questions — get to know them for yourself below.

AnnaBlakeElla RuthPatriciaJamie

My career has been a continuous evolution. Before entering the retail media space, I spent 10+ years involved in the fashion world— as a buyer, creative director, business owner, and wardrobe stylist. The thing that ties it all together? My appreciation for thoughtfully designed, visually inspiring work. Enneagram 4w3 here. On the weekend you’ll find me brunching with girlfriends, frequenting flea markets, or unwinding with a glass of wine in my robe [with two naughty spaniels, George + Peppa, under foot.]

Q: What do you do day-to-day at Aisle 9?
A: My primary role is to drive vision, tone, and editorial direction for the team — to keep a pulse on what’s happening in the world and ensure everything we feature on the site is interesting, current, helpful, and inspiring. The Aisle 9 Woman doesn’t have time to shop anymore— she’s a mother, an entrepreneur, a visionary — so we’re doing it for her through great products and careful curation.

Q: What is your favourite A9 article + why?
A: Only one? I’ll narrow it down to four.

No. 1 The Mascara You’ve Been Waiting For — Definitely tops my list for a few reasons; 1. I swear by this product [hello weightless mascara] 2. A butterfly landing on the tube at we snapped these photos? Kismet.

No. 2  Breath of Fresh Air This gig allows me to unearth helpful products I never in a million years would have otherwise known existed.

No. 3  Giving Me Life — Because it means a lot to me to be able to highlight great causes + people doing important work — Yinka Ilori actually reached out to thank us for the feature and reposted the link.

No. 4  Our June Edit— All my current favorites in one article? C’mon, I had to.

Q: Where do you find inspiration?
A: Exploring new places, finding unexpected patterns in nature, thoughtful interior decor, fresh cut flowers, podcasts, and strong women — e v e r y w h e r e.

Q: What’s a product you can’t live without?
A: Mario Badescu Exfoliating Scrub + Quip + AP24 + my laptop.

Q: What’s your favourite after-work activity?
A: My guy is working on his commercial pilot’s license, so I love getting to play copilot after work when we fly to Louise at Thaden Field. Nothing better than a sunset cocktail + cruise over Beaver Lake.

A multi-faceted creative with a background in design + marketing and a love for building brands. As an enneagram 2w3, I love connecting with people + getting projects to the finish line. You can find me spending quality time with my man, planning my next trip, sipping on an iced coffee [splash of lavender, please], or snuggling up with my sweet pup, Remi girl.

Q: What do you do day-to-day at Aisle 9?
A: Juggle! But really, we’re a small team working hard to execute the day-to-day of a media platform — which means we’re all wearing a lot of hats. I spend my days planning out content + content strategy, writing new articles, photographing products, designing assets to use across our digital + social platforms, and making sure we hit our deadlines!

Q: What is your favourite A9 article + why?
A: I loved our article all about Stress-Free Entertaining. I am a hostess at heart, but I think we can all relate to the pressure to make our homes + gatherings feel perfect — and that’s just not what it’s about. This article shares practical ways to make an event special, while focusing on what really matters.

Q: Where do you find inspiration?
A: Off the computer. I find a ton of creative inspiration at our local library, flipping through book pages, magazines, and children’s books [I get so inspired by the illustrations.] But in general, experiencing something new always inspires creativity for me — a new restaurant, part of town, group of people, etc.

Q: What’s a product you can’t live without?
A: A great concealer! Dark under eyes have always been a pain point, so a great concealer to brighten them up is a must. I’ve tried so many brands — but I always come back to Covergirl Smoothers Concealer Stick. It works wonders and stays on all day!

Q: What’s your favourite after-work activity?
A: Taking a walk with my pup + a friend. Getting engrossed in a good mystery novel. Cooking dinner with my husband + watching any episode of The Office.

I’m a recent college grad turned wordsmith with a wonder for travel + new experiences. As an enneagram 1w2, I love a sharp sentence and spend my days dreaming of ways this girl gang can be that much more efficient. I thrive with an iced latte in one hand and a book in the other.

Q: What do you do day-to-day at Aisle 9?
A: I do everything from copy editing newsletters, to formatting article layouts, to engaging on social media, to running to the store for the latest product feature. I live with a Merriam Webster tab open on my laptop and spend much of my day going downstairs for more coffee.

Q: What is your favourite A9 article + why?
A: I loved The Perfect Pour article featuring the ÖVERST Metal Coffee Filter. I love a quality cup of coffee, and I thought Patricia used her writing superpowers to create a simple, pour-over tutorial. I’ll definitely be using her tips.

Q: Where do you find inspiration?
A: Outside — whether it’s on a hike with friends or just sitting in the morning stillness — being outside, preferably with a journal, brings wind to my busy mind.

Q: What’s a product you can’t live without?
A: My Philips Sonicare electric toothbrush — sounds basic, but I’m not kidding here.

Q: What’s your favourite after-work activity?
A: I love a good workout after a long day at the office. Getting my body moving heightens my energy and mood to make the next day just as productive.

Enneagram: 3w4. Myers Briggs: INTJ.  Adobe Creative Type: Dreamer. Way too into personality tests? Clearly. Honorable mentions: I love pop culture, making Spotify playlists and gawking at strangers’ dogs.

Q: What do you do day-to-day at Aisle 9?
A: My primary role is to get free goodies in the hands of readers and interview them about their experience using the items. Want the hook up? Download the Field Agent App and check out the Buy & Try jobs! I also write about products I’m loving— most recently— the ÖVERST.

Q: What is your favourite A9 article + why?
A: Definitely our Maggie Rogers album feature, Turn It Up. Maggie’s one of the many women in the music industry bending genre rules + redefining what makes popular music cool [think: Billie Eilish, King Princess, LÉON], and I’m here for it. Heard It In A Past Life feels weirdly familiar, but completely different and — call me cliché — listening to it on vinyl just feels right. Listen to my favorite tracks: “Fallingwater” and “Give A Little.”

Q: Where do you find inspiration?
A: Music. It elicits such a wide range of emotions— calmness, excitement, nostalgia— that I channel into my work and creativity. And don’t get me started on how cool it is that we have the ability to listen to virtually any artist or genre in an instant. It’s an endless well of inspiration.

Q: What’s a product you can’t live without?
A: The Olay Cleansing Brush has brought me champagne dreams on a canned rosé budget. It’s waterproof, so I keep it in the shower and use it daily. And, not to be dramatic, but my skin has never felt so good.

Q: What’s your favourite after-work activity?
A: There are few things I love more than a post-work happy hour. Especially during patio season.

Enneagram 2w3, wife to my junior high crush, a self-proclaimed ice cream enthusiast, and photographer of the most beautiful humans and things. You can generally find me smiling and laughing with my people, petting all of the dogs, knitting or bringing my homemade popcorn to local gatherings.

Q: What do you do day-to-day at Aisle 9?
A: I style and photograph alllll the lovely products for Aisle 9. There is never a dull shoot + each product keeps me on my toes in the best way. I absolutely love the work that I get to do here.

Q: What is your favourite A9 article + why?
A: This was a tough one, but I love the A Weekend in Seaside article. My husband and I visit Seaside every year to celebrate our anniversary, and we recently returned from our third trip. It’s our favorite tradition, and we are always trying to find new places and experiences, so this article struck gold for us.

Q: Where do you find inspiration?
A: Traveling + exploring new places, architecture, morning light, exciting textures and colors, nature, fascinating humans, different food and ingredients + of course, Pinterest.

Q: What’s a product you can’t live without?
A: My MacBook Pro goes with me everywhere. From editing photos in Lightroom, to viewing my ever growing calendar, to watching The Great British Baking Show in bed, she’s always in good use.

Q: What’s your favourite after-work activity?
A: I am a quality time gal, so I love coming home and spending time with family — getting outside with my husband, taking our lab puppy on a walk or cooking dinner together — I wouldn’t have it any other way.
