There’s a Protein Bar That Tastes Like Thin Mints
I get it. Truly, I do. Sweets and junk food are tough to kick. Old habits die hard. I personally can hardly go through the checkout line at Walmart without itching to put all the candy and junk food onto the conveyor belt. PSA: There’s a reason they call it the “impulse section.”
But now that I’ve made it to adulthood, I’m faced with the harsh reality that my metabolism is no longer that of a teenager. I’ve kissed the 2 a.m. Taco Bell runs goodbye. I’ve said farewell to binging on an entire bag of Doritos in one sitting, and I’ve even purchased kale at least 5 times in the last year…by choice. (Baby steps, people.) According to society, it’s high-time for me to start caring about what I put into my body.
Let me preface the following by saying this: I love the girls in the green vests as much as the next person. I’m filled with joy when I see them standing outside the grocery store each year. Not to be a buzzkill or anything, but four Thin Mint cookies contain a total of 10 grams of sugar. Just four cookies! And let’s be honest, we all know you never eat just four thin mints at a time.
That’s why I couldn’t be happier about discovering Oatmega’s Chocolate Mint Crisp Bar. I kid you not – it tastes like a sleeve of Thin Mint cookies. And it only has 5 grams of sugar. I REPEAT: ONLY 5 GRAMS OF SUGAR. In the entire bar!
It’s filled with healthy ingredients like grass-fed whey protein, chia seeds, and this thing called monk fruit–a sweetener that’s 200 times sweeter than sugar, but contains zero calories. It’s like magic.
Don’t get me wrong—I’m not saying I’ll never buy Thin Mints again, but these bars honestly are changing the way I fulfill my daily sweet-tooth craving. They currently have three other flavors available at Walmart that, to my complete joy. are also inspired by some of my favorite sweets, like brownies and lemon poppyseed muffins.
