Look 06: Dopamine Dressing

Surely you guessed we’d make room to play with color in this lookbook series, right? One of the best parts of growing a collection of ready-for-wear staples is getting to plug in the extra details. Some of our most tried + true additions to our closets have come with age, some come with impulse. Whether you take your doses in feathers or ruffles, our Editor-In-Chief has a few tips on how to make use of both sides of your closet.

On the other, slightly more daring hand, you can never go wrong with monochrome + [apparently] a little dash of feathers. We heard it straight from the source, Brandon Maxwell himself.

It’s a bold choice for some of us who cling to the neutral side of our closets, but it always pulls through with a chic factor. We promise you won’t regret it. Note: For the pieces sourced from our own closets, we’ve sourced some inspirational dupes for you so you can complete the look – white button down dupes [1] [2], black heels [1].
This is our sixth installment in our Spring Lookbook series: a guide for curating a tasteful capsule closet of ready-to-wear pieces we can actually afford. Much of our lookbook has taken inspiration from Brandon Maxwell, the new creative director + brains behind Walmart’s newest collections Free Assembly x Scoop. While we take pages from his book, we spin our own tried x true styling rules on ready-to-wear apparel. If you want a crash course [or even a little refresher], you can find our latest styling chapters for our complete Spring Lookbook Series : Look 01, Look 02, Look 03, Look 04, Look 5
