Look 04: Knit Together

Since we’ve been on the subject of staples, let’s get into knitwear. There’s enough debate on mock necks v. turtle necks + cashmere v. wool, but a frontrunner on our trendcast has been the quarter zip sweater. It’s a casual take on an everyday layering item, yet with hardware details it can turn an everyday outfit into a moment.

As of late, we’re hooked on this half-zip. While we’re suckers for the gorgeous tailoring x soft silhouette, what we can’t get over is how a simple jumper can elevate our most casual looks. Whether for lounging or for outing, with the slight pop of the collar this throw-on can match any + all energy. Editor-In-Chief, Anna Cottrell’s, rendition of this number is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

I like to play off the comfortable-chic elements of this sweater. Paired with your favourite, relaxed denim + structured footwear like sleek loafers or a kitten heel, it's mwah! Too good.

In case you need any more persuasion, the price tag comes in at [drum roll, please] $21. Yes, you read that right. It’s one of those can’t miss moments, and we promise your closet will thank us later.

Note: For the pieces sourced from our own closets, as well as pieces currently out of stock, we’ve sourced some inspirational dupes for you so you can complete the look – half zip sweater dupes [1] [2] + black heels [1].

This is our fourth installment in our Spring Lookbook series: a guide for curating a tasteful capsule closet of ready-to-wear pieces we can actually afford. Much of our lookbook has taken inspiration from Brandon Maxwell, the new creative director + brains behind Walmart’s newest collections Free Assembly x Scoop. While we take pages from his book, we spin our own tried x true styling rules on ready-to-wear apparel. If you want a crash course [or even a little refresher], you can find our latest styling chapters for our complete Spring Lookbook Series: Look 01, Look 02, Look 03, Look 5, Look 6
