Gourmet Spicy Shin Cup

Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You’ll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It’s a quick-prepare soup that’s just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.

We talked to Michelle S. from CA about NONGSHIM, and here is what she had to say:

Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Michelle S.:  The red chilli powder really shines in the "Gourmet Spicy" flavor but not too dominating. The broth contains subtle flavors of beef and onion. After resting for 3 min in the broth, the texture of the noodles is a bit gummy. Sort of difficult to chew through the noodles.
“I loved the spicy and the beef flavors.”

Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Michelle S.:  I would add strips of beef and more mushrooms to the bowl. I might also add a boiled egg. I believe it also needs a bit more water than the cup can handle.
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Michelle S.:  I loved the spicy and the beef flavors. The noodles are a little too chewy for my taste. When compared to other brands, the flavors excells but the noodle texture is lacking.
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Michelle S.:  I boiled water and let it sit in the cup for 3 min (per directions stated on the cup). This option is very convenient for my work office. I don't think this would be very safe to microwave.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Michelle S.:  I would only suggest the spicy flavor to someone who loves spicy because it is pretty hot. If you like hot than this is a wonderful choice. The heat is well balanced and not just spicy for spicy-sake.

Thank you for your time, Michelle S.! We love your feedback.
