Gourmet Spicy Shin Cup

Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You’ll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It’s a quick-prepare soup that’s just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.

We talked to Mary K. from MI about NONGSHIM, and here is what she had to say:

Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Mary K.:  I taste a lot of heat from chili peppers, I think. I taste salty with the spicy, along with mushrooms and onions in the thin broth. The noodles kept their shape well and soak up the flavor but are a little chewy but not quite al dente.
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Mary K.:  I would add grilled chicken to the noodles along with spinach to enrich it. I would leave some noodles uncooked and break them up to add crunch on top of the noodles. Another way I would eat this is to prepare it and then drain the broth and eat the noodles with a runny egg on top.
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Mary K.:  The noodles were more chewy than Top Ramen. The cup vs block of ramen may factor in. Shin Cup less salty in taste than other ramens I've had.
“If you like heat and spicy was, try this.”

Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Mary K.:  I did like the ease of preparing it in just a few minutes. The broth was hot but not too hot to burn my mouth. The cup makes it easy to transport and serve, too, without dirtying dishes.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Mary K.:  If you like heat and spicy was, try this. It has a solid kick to it without burning your tongue. You can still taste flavors in the soup with the heat.

Thank you for your time, Mary K.! We love your feedback.
