Gourmet Spicy Shin Cup

Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You’ll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It’s a quick-prepare soup that’s just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.

We talked to Melissa M. from NM about NONGSHIM, and here is what she had to say:

Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Melissa M.:  When they say "spicy," they mean spicy. This cup was full of well cooked noodles in a need beef bone broth. The flavors that stand out most are onions and chili. The only problem I had was having the water spill over in the microwave even after following the directions to add water were the line was. Overall I liked it and would eat it, especially on a cold day.
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Melissa M.:  I would add some eggs to the Shin cup, or add some more vegetables such as cabbage. The soup did have carrots but I would add a little bit more.
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Melissa M.:  What I liked most was the noodle texture. In comparison to Ramen noodles, the Shin Cup has better noodles when cooked.
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Melissa M.:  The shin cup was very easy to prepare. The directions carefully read how long to cook the noodles for, as well as, what level of water should be added. It only takes 3 minutes to cook, which is a very convenient lunch or snack.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Melissa M.:  I have a quite a few friends that love spicy food that I believe would love this product. I would definitely recommend it. I would describe the level of heat as being VERY VERY spicy.
