Gourmet Spicy Shin Cup

Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You’ll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It’s a quick-prepare soup that’s just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.

We talked to Staci T. from NJ about NONGSHIM, and here is what she had to say:

Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Staci T.:  Overall the flavor of beef and mushrooms comes through in the broth. The broth is spicy and flavorful, but not overpowering. The noodles were soft but starchy tasting. The dried pieces of vegetables did not reconstitute very well. The mushroom pieces had a very spongy consistency. The broth itself was very salty tasting.
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Staci T.:  To add to the experience, I would add more protein like chicken or shrimp pieces. I would use this item as a base in a bowl and add the protein and some steamed vegetables like snow peas or broccoli.
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Staci T.:  I like how fast this meal comes together. The taste is richer than other ramen cups I have tried. I like the addition of mushroom pieces in the cup. Other ramen usually has corn which I don‚Äôt like as much.

Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Staci T.:  I removed the lid and added water to the fill line. I then microwaved the product for three minutes and then stirred it. The instructions were clear and the product was easy to prepare. I think it is a good convenience item since it does not need refrigeration. The cup does get very hot so I would not eat this on the go or while doing something else.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Staci T.:  I would say this product has a gentle heat. It is spicy and it is flavorful but not in a peppery way. It has an Asian flavor that like lingers in your mouth.

Thank you for your time, Staci T.! We love your feedback.
