Gourmet Spicy Shin Cup

Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You’ll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It’s a quick-prepare soup that’s just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.

We talked to Holly R. from WA about NONGSHIM, and here is what she had to say:

Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Holly R.:  The first taste you encounter will spicy, a strong flavor that continues as you taste other flavors and can be a bit overwhelming. However, there are other flavors, rich umami and a freshness that is green like celery. The noodles are good, firm, not mushy and not rubbery. Taken together, the broth and noodles are a satisfying spicy meal, perfect for a quick lunch.

Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Holly R.:  This meal would be perfect with a soft boiled egg added on top or mixed with some cooked chicken breast. It would also be great with some shredded carrot or spring onion or sliced radish mixed in to add crunch.
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Holly R.:  The spicy broth is flavorful and delicious. Shin cup is better than other ramen, because it is not mushy or rubbery.
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Holly R.:  Shin cups are simple to prepare. Just add hot water, wait a few minutes and it is ready to go. They don't need refrigeration, so they are easy to store and bring with you.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Holly R.:  This product is pretty spicy, probably a 4 out of 5. The heat can be overwhelming if you don't like spicy things, but if you are used to spicy foods, the other flavors shine through.

Thank you for your time, Holly R.! We love your feedback.
