Gourmet Spicy Shin Cup

Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You’ll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It’s a quick-prepare soup that’s just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.

We talked to Noelle P. from CA about NONGSHIM, and here is what she had to say:

Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Noelle P.:  The broth has a warming sensation tipping on spicy, without the full kick in the mouth of spicy. The broth itself is flavorful with hints of curry. The noodles are tender and soft and taste like what I expect ramen noodles to taste like. The noodles retain more of the spicy flavor, creating a nice burning sensation on my lips and back of my throat. Together the broth and noodle have a well rounded spicy boldness. If you like spicy soup this is a delicious choice for lunch or supper.

Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Noelle P.:  To enhance my meal experience with Shin Cup, I would add some fresh mushrooms and shredded chicken or tofu to add the protein element to the meal. Another suggestion to compliment the spicy flavor and add protein to your meal would be to add shrimp and scallions with a squeeze of lemon.
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Noelle P.:  The Shin Cup has a delightful flavor profile that the other cup of soups don't have. Shin Cup has spice depth and warm flavor that excited my tastebuds. Shin Cup was easy to add to and build on their already flavorful profile with simple additions to make it into a meal.
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Noelle P.:  Shin Cup was easily prepared with cool water and then 3 minutes in the mircowave. Making additions like chicken and other proteins was easy to add to the cooking process. I appreciated being able to have a full meal in under 5 minutes.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Noelle P.:  In recommending this tasty treat, I would explain that although there is a slight heat it is not overpowering but does leave a nice tingle in your mouth and on your lips. I would recommend a small modification of adding a squeeze of lemon to help ease the spiciness if it's too much in the initial try.

Thank you for your time, Noelle P.! We love your feedback.
