Gourmet Spicy Shin Cup

Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You’ll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It’s a quick-prepare soup that’s just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.

We talked to Heidi S. from WI about NONGSHIM, and here is what she had to say:

Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Heidi S.:  It is very spicy, but flavorful. I taste chilli pepper and onion in the broth portion of the noodle soup. The noodles are the perfect texture, they stay together but aren't tough or chewy.
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Heidi S.:  The amount of vegetables in the soup was limited, so I would add more carrots or mushrooms. My personal preference would be to hold back a little on the spicy heat flavor.
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Heidi S.:  I liked the consistency of the noodles, they didn't fall apart and stood up to the cook time. The amount and convenient cup that you cook and eat it in is nice, rather than plastic packaging.
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Heidi S.:  The cup of noodles could not have been easier to prepare. Open, add flavor and water and let sit. My children could easily make this for themselves. Easy to open too.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Heidi S.:  The noodle soup is very spicy, but it is labeled as gourmet spicy so I knew it would have heat. I am not good with a lot of spice, but I would still eat it - probably just not add the entire flavor packet. I would recommend on flavor to a friend, it was tasty.
