Gourmet Spicy Shin Cup

Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You’ll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It’s a quick-prepare soup that’s just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.

We talked to Sarah M. from CT about NONGSHIM, and here is what she had to say:

Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Sarah M.:  When they say this soup is SPICY, they mean it! The noodles stand up well to the broth, gradually soaking in the flavor as the soup cools down, but not falling apart. The flavor of the noodles helps to tone down the spicy broth somewhat, but the broth still hits you in the back of the throat every now and then.
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Sarah M.:  Considering that the spicy element of the soup made my nose run and eyes water, I would definitely consider drinking milk or eating bread with the Shin Cup. If I were to make a larger, more balanced meal, I might add sauteed chicken and mushrooms to make a heartier soup.
“The Shin Cup is perfect for squeezing in a meal between errands.”

Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Sarah M.:  I liked the size of the Shin Cup, and I liked that the ratio of soup to noodles was perfect. The Shin Cup had mushrooms, which I enjoyed, and the broth was not too salty (as compared with other ramen packets).
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Sarah M.:  I made the Shin Cup in my microwave at the end of a busy day, and the preparation was swift and easy. I appreciated being able to prepare the soup in its container without worrying about styrofoam. The Shin Cup is perfect for squeezing in a meal between errands.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Sarah M.:  If you are sensitive to spice, do not risk eating this! I enjoy spicy food, but this was almost too much for me. However, I know some spice-lovers who would adore the Shin Cup!

Thank you for your time, Sarah M.! We love your feedback.
