Gourmet Spicy Shin Cup

Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You’ll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It’s a quick-prepare soup that’s just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.

We talked to Laura C. from TX about NONGSHIM, and here is what she had to say:

Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Laura C.:  This was a surprisingly complex broth considering it is instant noodles. There was depth of umami flavor and really good spicy notes, which I love.
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Laura C.:  This was a perfect base for a hearty, spicy soup. I added sliced fresh mushrooms, frozen peas, cilantro leaves and green onions and a splash of soy sauce. You're only limited by your imagination on how to enhance this soup.
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Laura C.:  My favorite thing about this soup was its spiciness. I love heat so I was pleasantly surprised by the kick of spice in the packet and broth.
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Laura C.:  This was very easy to prepare and directions were clear. I heated some water and poured over noodles. I like to have the noodles with some bite to them so I didn't let it sit too long in the water before I enjoyed it.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Laura C.:  I would describe this as very spicy. In fact, my only recommendation is that the spicy text on the packaging should be bigger so that those that don't like spicy food don't accidentally choose this product as it may be too spicy for them. As I like the heat, it was perfect for me.
