Gourmet Spicy Shin Cup

Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You’ll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It’s a quick-prepare soup that’s just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.

We talked to Brandi L. from FL about NONGSHIM, and here is what she had to say:

Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Brandi L.:  The flavor is undoubtedly spicy, but is balanced by the savory undertones. The noodles are nicely cooked, not too soft and not too hard; there was a worry that waiting for the broth to cool that the noodles might become overdone, but it was not a problem. Overall, the flavor has a nice kick of heat, but could use more of savory and salty notes.
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Brandi L.:  I would add some tenderized beef, an egg and the whites of some green onions to bring out a more savory flavor.
“Overall, the flavor has a nice kick of heat.”

Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Brandi L.:  I liked the ease and success of cooking it. Most other ramen cups tend to have the water spill over the sides while cooking, and the noodles are never even close to done.
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Brandi L.:  I put water in the cup, but held off on adding the soup base in case the water spilled over the side. After it was microwaved, I added the soup base and let it sit to cool. The process was easy and I was able to do a few things while I waited on the cup.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Brandi L.:  As a person who loves spicy food, I would give it a 6.5/10 on spiciness. Definitely not for someone who doesn't care for spice/heat or only likes it a bit.

Thank you for your time, Brandi L.! We love your feedback.
