Southwest Cooking at Home

In Partnership with Food Network Kitchen Inspirations

We talked to Alison from MD and here’s what she had to say:

If Alison Had a Food Network Show
"Dinner for 2" would be the show title. The show would feature easy-to-make recipes for 1-2 people. I think this would be a huge hit because every show that I have seen is about cooking for the family of at least 3-4 people. There are a lot of empty nesters and singles who don't want to make big recipes and have leftovers for a week. Easy to prep, make and serve would be something I would definitely watch. I enjoy quick and easy recipes because after a long day at work, I don't want to spend a lot of time on meal prep during the week.
Her Experience Making the Food Network Kit…
The directions were easy to follow. I liked the recipe card that was included in the box. It took me about 30 minutes to make this dish.
Alison’s Thoughts On The Flavor…
I purchased the Southwest Style Chicken and Rice Kit. I like that I can now make a Southwest dish at home. I have never tried to make this type of thing at home. I love the idea of making burritos with this and serving with some lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese and sour cream. The flavor is not too spicy, which is good. I don't like super spicy foods, and this tastes good. I like the texture mix of the rice and black beans.
Why she’d Make a Food Network Kit on her Show
It would definitely fit into a 30-minute international cooking segment since a lot of people associate Chipotle with Mexican food.
This kit made cooking Southwest Style so easy and uncomplicated!
