Happy Hens Make Happy Eggs, Which Makes Me Happy

In Partnership with Happy Egg Co.

We talked to Denise from OR and here’s what she had to say:

Q
Tell us what you made with your Happy Eggs!

A
I made over medium eggs, using a 1/2 tsp of butter and a touch of sea salt in a single one-egg frying pan. I make over medium eggs for breakfast every morning and eat it with a slice of bread or toast, and I enjoy them so that's why I made it this way. It cooked evenly with a rich color. I really enjoyed the taste, and the yolk had a rich creamy texture.
Q
How do you feel about The Happy Egg Co.’s commitment to hen welfare?

A
It's fantastic! I'm a huge animal lover, and any company that is concerned with how and where we get our food from animals is important.
Q
Get creative! What yummy summer recipe would you choose to incorporate Happy Eggs with?

A
I will make potato salad! I need 12 red potatoes, half a dozen eggs, dill pickles, mustard, mayo, and BAM! Potato salad. Season to taste and it's super easy to make and it makes enough for a party! Everyone has their own special recipes when it comes to potato salad but using Happy Eggs would give it a boost. Between good texture and fresh flavor, it would elevate the dish. This is a dish I make every summer barbecue or party because my best friends and family can't get enough.
Q
Happy Egg Hens spend their days doing things they love [like perching, foraging + dust bathing]. What are some of your favorite things to do with family + friends?

A
Some of my favorite things are heading to a friends house and enjoying our favorite show while catching up over a few drinks. Sometimes we like to hit up happy hours or order take out while catching up after a long week at work.
I appreciated the fact that the Happy Egg Company takes care of their hens by treating them as more of a family than just some animal.
