Chickens Breakout of Caged Situation

In Partnership with Happy Egg Co.

We talked to K from OK and here’s what she had to say:

Q
Tell us what you made with your Happy Eggs!

A
I made a fried egg sandwich for lunch. I cooked it and broke the yolk and fried both sides until the it was cooked but not too cooked. I don't' want to cook all the moisture out of the egg. I also added about a 1/2 teaspoon of butter.
Q
How do you feel about The Happy Egg Co.’s commitment to hen welfare?

A
I love this. I too have raised eggs from my four hens, but the city asked me to get rid of them. Raising farm fresh eggs is very important to me. There are so many reasons for doing this. I can't stand egg production on a large scale and have watched a few documentaries on it. Disgusting.
Q
Get creative! What yummy summer recipe would you choose to incorporate Happy Eggs with?

A
I like to make a savory mushroom omelette use two eggs Philadelphia chive and onion and use the half less fat than your regular cream cheese it's better. About a half a cup of sliced fresh mushrooms and a little ground pepper first you cook the mushrooms for about two minutes throw the pepper in there. Then mix the eggs with olive oil and make the omelette. Very good
Q
Happy Egg Hens spend their days doing things they love [like perching, foraging + dust bathing]. What are some of your favorite things to do with family + friends?

A
Enjoy the lake or stay in a cabin in the mountains. Working all week a person has to get away. Those chickens have a great life - it sounds like a vacation full time!
Happy Eggs are tasty eggs.
